Reiki Therapy

During my personal and spiritual evolution I went about to learn and discover the healing benefits of Reiki Therapy. Reiki Therapy is also referred as healing touch, it was developed in the early 1900's by a Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui.

A friend of mine mentioned that one of his computer repair clients was a Reiki Master Teacher and he gave me her business card. I called Normajean up and setup an appointment to learn more about Reiki therapy and the Reiki attunements.

Normajean had a home office setup as what some may refer to as a massage parlor. The place had calm music playing in the background with some interesting incense brining in an amethyst crystal incense holder. She talked to me about Reiki therapy and how it can benefit me and anyone that I use the therapy on, even my pets.

I decided to peruse the first Reiki Attunement called the First Degree Reiki Practitioner in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. During the attunement process the Reiki Master Teacher (Normajean) did a series of hand gestures and movements around my body and I did feel very subtle energy shifts and feelings of heat.

The whole Reiki attunement process took about 30 to 45 minutes. She later gave me some Reiki books and a DVD.

After that Reiki attunement and therapy session I ended up getting a strong cold the same night. I thought it was strange but I actually found online that something like that could happen and even the Reiki Master Teacher told me that it can happen. Well the cold went away after a few days and during that time I began using Reiki Therapy on myself.

Later on I went to pursue the other degrees of Reiki and became a Reiki Master myself. I did Reiki on my family and friends, and it all has helped them in some way or form. Reiki therapy is a very subtle healing technique and sometimes it is not worth mentioning to skeptics. I personally believe in it and have been using it for six years. I also found that Reiki helps me mediate and whenever I am in pain, I always turn to it for extra pain relief.
